Video has now emerged showing police and passersby surrounding a baby boy still in his pushchair following the slaughter in Westgate.
The child was unharmed in the attack, which triggered a nationwide manhunt.
West Yorkshire Police later named the suspect as Habibur Masum, 25, who was alleged to have wed Kulsuma in an arranged marriage.
He was arrested on suspicion of murder 180 miles away in Aylesbury, Bucks, on Tuesday morning following a three day search.
Masum is the dad of the boy who was in the pram when his mum, from Oldham, Greater Manchester, was stabbed at the junction with Drewton Road.
The murder suspect was on bail accused of assaulting and threatening to kill Kulsuma before she was stabbed to death.
Shopkeeper Geo Khan said he raced out of his shop after hearing screaming in the street at around 3.20pm on Saturday.
He said: “I came out and I tried to check the pulse. There was no pulse.
“Blood was all over on the floor and there were stab wounds in her neck.”
Greater Manchester Police and West Yorkshire Police have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) over previous contact with the pair.
If anyone witnessed this incident or has any relevant dashcam footage, they are urged to contact police via Live Chat online or by calling 101, quoting log 1072 of 6 April.
